The Clark Family: North Shore Family Photography at Balmoral Beach

North Shore Family Photography at Balmoral Beach

I recently photographed the Clark family – Nikki, Russ, Felix and Willow – down at Balmoral Beach, Sydney. Nikki and I met about 6 years ago when we both worked in the brand team at IBM. We discovered we lived close by, and have stayed in touch these past 5 years since we’ve both moved on and been navigating the world of self-employment and freelancing. I remember meeting Willow and Felix once at the office when they were tiny tots – both still pretty much toddlers.

Nikki and Russ are both originally British – Nikki from England and Russ from Scotland. They met while travelling through Asia and have been inseperable ever since.

Willow and Felix are the two most adorable kids. So lively, friendly and creaitve. Felix is a talented and dedicated gymnast and Willow a cheerleader and netballer. They happily chatted away throughout, sharing their ideas for poses they could do. Willow even had a hand in directing me on location – some of which turned out to be my favourites!

What I found was pretty special about this portrait session, and I didn’t find out until we arrived, is that this is the year of Nikki and Russ’ 10 year anniversary, and they were married at Balmoral beach. In fact, some of the photos we took in the session were on the exact rock they said ‘I do!’.

I loved hearing their feedback at the end, and as we were heading back to the car Felix said it was the best afternoon ever and Nikki later said Willow had the most amazing afternoon and thinks she might want to be a photographer, so I think I’ll have an apprentice sorted once she’s working age 😉

I hope you love browsing through this gallery and fall in love with this gorgeous young family.
